fitness pilates

Fitness Pilates is a group exercise class that focuses on the body as a human kinetic chain. By applying the fundamental Pilates technique and exercises Fitness Pilates aims to offset musculoskeletal imbal- ances, improve posture, movement quality, mobility, flexibility, mental cognition, core strength, form and function in a non-intimidating, highly accessible and enjoyable way.

The aim of Fitness Pilates is to identify basic postural and movement imbalances and through Pilates based exercises and breath:

  • Increase muscular balance and strength.
  • Improve clients posture.
  • Facilitate the clients’ ability to optimally function occupationally and recreationally.
  • Improve core strength.
  • Improve mental cognition.
  • Fitness Pilates aims to educate learners in Pilates techniques with a modern and contemporary style.

 

core conditioning

This is a 30-minute session, designed for working the core and improving functional fitness. This workout is short and incredibly effective. Using a resistance band with handles and /or a kettlebell or dumbbell, this class ensures that your workout tightens and tones your body, improves your core strength, and aids injury prevention.  This is an all over workout that is suitable for all fitness levels.

HIIT Spin

This class is carried out on an indoor spin bike and is for a 30-minute duration.  HIIT (High intensity interval training) is a broad term for workouts that involve short periods of intense exercise, such as a standing fast run for 50 seconds followed by a recovery period. They are ideal for when you are short on time but want to get an effective workout in. This is one of the best cardio exercises you can do and is specifically designed to boost the body’s ability to burn a huge number of calories, getting you fit fast! The biggest advantages of interval training sessions (HIIT) is that you can get maximal health benefits in minimal time.

Indoor cycling

This class is carried out on an indoor spin bike and is for a 45-minute duration. This session is suitable for a range of fitness levels and you control the intensity- through the level of resistance and speed you cycle. This is a fun workout, using great music to keep you going.  Your instructor takes you on a journey of mixed terrains, including seated and standing hill climbs, seated and standing races and riding on a flat terrain. This is a workout which could see you burning up to 500 calories a session and getting fit fast as you increase the intensity of your workouts.

Cardio combat

Cardio Combat is a fun, energetic non-contact workout which is suitable for all fitness levels and requires no special equipment.  Based on martial arts moves, you will develop endurance, co-ordination, agility and speed while punching and kicking your way to fitness.  A good way of relieving stress and raising your heart rate. Works your legs, tones your arms, back and shoulders and provides phenomenal core training burning up to 500 calories in a session. Train your whole body, get strong fit and fast, unleash strength you never knew you had!

 

fitness yoga

This is an effective and dynamic holistic Mind and Body class. It combines a series of poses that flow smoothly and seamlessly, using the breath to re-energise the body. These poses create strength, flexibility, endurance and balance. This class is a strong Yoga class but there are plenty of options available for the more beginner Yogi. 

 

Mash-up

A fusion of Cardio Combat, High Energy Aerobics and Pumpfit / Bodymax. 50 minutes of Mash up combines highly motivative music, with different training techniques to ensure a full body workout. Increases your heart rate improving aerobic fitness and tones the arms and legs using weights-based exercises; (dumbbells, barbells, or kettlebells).

Hatha Yoga

Yoga is an ancient practice that brings together mind and body.   Focused on building strength and flexibility classical hatha yoga incorporates breathing exercises, meditation for personal spiritual growth, exploring dynamic tension for balance while connecting movement with breath. Poses are designed to encourage relaxation and reduce stress. 

yogafusion

Yogafusion is a fusion of Tai Chi, Yoga and Pilates and is suitable for a range of fitness levels. This class is choreographed to music and uses simple moves to transform you to a calm state of mind. The focus is on strengthening the body and controlling the breathing. Reducing body fat percentage, improving flexibility, and increasing back strength are just some of the benefits, along with learning to build both physical and mental strength.

pumpfit

For this class you need either dumbbells or/and a barbell.  The class is in a set structure for each muscle group, e.g, legs, biceps, triceps, shoulders etc. Working to the beat of uplifting music, this class has an overall feel-good factor.  Light to moderate weights are used as it is an endurance class- which means many repetitions of each exercise are carried out to give you a full body workout! You will leave this class feeling challenged and fired up!
